Job Description:

Role Overview

This role is suited to someone starting out in U.S. power scheduling. You'll support the daytoday scheduling and nomination activities across markets such as ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, and MISO. Working alongside experienced schedulers, traders, origination, risk, and backoffice teams, you'll help ensure our power portfolios run reliably and in line with market and regulatory requirements.

You'll learn how realtime and dayahead markets work, assist with system updates, and help keep processes running smoothly. The aim is to build a strong foundation in U.S. power scheduling within a fastmoving commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily scheduling and nomination process for U.S. power markets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Assist in communicating with internal teams to help optimise commercial outcomes.

  • Help coordinate with ISOs/RTOs, transmission schedulers, and other external stakeholders.

  • Contribute to basic realtime and dayahead scheduling activities, including handling updates and simple congestion checks.

  • Help maintain ETRM data accuracy and support routine system testing or updates.

  • Assist with new business setup tasks, including data entry, workflow checks, and operational readiness steps.

  • Take part in the team's outofhours coverage rota once trained, helping provide continuous operational support.

Requirements

Technical & Market Awareness

  • Basic understanding of U.S. energy or power markets is useful, but not essential.

  • Interest in learning how ISO/RTO markets operate, and how scheduling, nominations, and regulatory rules fit together.

  • Willingness to learn about transmission scheduling, balancing markets, and congestion.

  • Comfort working with operational systems; previous exposure to ETRMs is helpful but not required.

Experience & Skills

  • Some experience in an energy, analytical, or schedulingfocused environment is helpful, though full training will be provided.

  • Strong attention to detail and a steady approach under time pressure.

  • Good communication skills and willingness to work closely with trading, scheduling, and support teams.

  • Curious, reliable, and ready to take responsibility for routine tasks as you build your knowledge.

Tools & Systems

  • Basic Excel skills required.

  • Any familiarity with data tools or Python is beneficial but not expected at entry level.

Flexibility

  • Willingness to work occasional outofhours shifts once trained.

  • Open to learning new systems and adapting to the needs of a 24/7 market.

What We Offer

  • A chance to develop handson skills in U.S. power scheduling from the ground up.

  • Exposure to trading, risk, technology, and broader commercial teams.

  • Opportunities to contribute to improving processes and systems as you gain experience.

  • A practical learning environment within a growing energy trading firm.

If you think the open position you see is right for you, we encourage you to apply!
