Job description

The Management Apprenticeship position offers on-the-job training under the supervision of an experienced Management Team. This position is entry level and does not require previous c-store experience. On the job training includes, but not limited to:
  • Learning to recruit, hire, and retain positive enthusiastic employees, ensuring excellent customer services
  • Schedule employees within company guidelines to maximize customer service, site image, and budgets
  • Implement non-discriminatory related management skills while hiring, training, counseling, motivating and separating employees
  • Develop positive and professional relationships with all vendors and suppliers
  • Promote excellent services and resolve customer complaints in a timely professional manner
  • Prepare ongoing and timely performance reviews for employees, providing proper performance based feedback
  • Train all employees on safety procedures and promote safety awareness
  • Manage and supervise store employees to ensure all requested reports and controls are completed accurately and timely
  • Manage and supervise all store employees to ensure all merchandise is stocked, attractively displayed, and priced correctly
  • Ensure all employment related posters and signs are in place and accessible to all employees
  • Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed
  • Perform all other financial analysis necessary to maximize sales and net profits
  • Develop, manage and assign tasks appropriately to ensure the site is clean, adequately stocked, organize and well kept to company standards

Working Conditions:
  • Performs a majority of work indoors, but will be required to work outside in order to clean parking lot, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc
  • Be exposed to occasional noise
  • Be exposed to occasional cold temperature extremes while performing occasional work in walk-in cooler and/or freezer
  • Able to lift at least 50lbs

Salaried position averaging 40-45 work hours per week; starting salary $44,000.00/year
  • A valid driver's license and adequate transportation to/from bank and site location
  • Ability to acquire skills necessary to use a computer at the site, which includes analysis of reports, inventory control, cash control, counseling notices, etc
  • 24 hour availability for emergencies, with the exceptions being vacation time, personal leave
  • Must have flexibility in scheduling, there is not set schedule for this position as the apprentice is learning and understanding all positions within the store model
