Position Title: Operator Support- Pulp Mill

Department: Pulp & Utilities

Location: St. Francisville, LA


Job Summary

We are seeking hardworking and reliable Utility Support Operators in the pulp mill to join our team. The Pulp Mill Utility Support Operator plays a vital role in supporting mill operations. This essential entry-level position is perfect for someone ready to dive into industrial work and grow a career in the pulp and paper industry. You’ll get hands-on with real equipment, support critical production tasks, and contribute directly to our mill’s performance, safety, and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors.
  • Assist operators and technicians with machine setup, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Load, unload, and transport raw materials, chemicals, and finished products as needed.
  • Adhere to environmental compliance guidelines and waste disposal procedures.
  • Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other material handling equipment (if certified).
  • Monitor and inspect production areas for potential hazards, spills, or maintenance needs.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving minor equipment issues under supervision.
  • Follow all safety regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Support shutdowns, equipment changeovers, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or mill environment is a plus.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs.), stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established protocols
  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
