How do entry-level traders at proprietary trading firms typically collaborate with senior team members to improve their trading strategies?

At most proprietary trading firms, entry-level traders work closely with more experienced traders and mentors, often through a structured training period and regular team meetings. Feedback sessions are common, where junior traders review their trades and strategies with seniors to identify strengths and areas for improvement. This collaborative environment helps new traders learn from real-time market scenarios and gain insights into risk management, technical analysis, and trading psychology. Engaging with senior team members not only accelerates skill development but also fosters a culture of continuous learning and support.

What is entry level prop firm trading?

Entry level prop firm trading refers to starting a career as a trader at a proprietary (prop) trading firm, where you trade the firm's capital rather than your own. These positions are designed for individuals with minimal professional trading experience and generally include training, mentorship, and risk management support. Entry level traders learn the firm's strategies, use its technology and resources, and are typically compensated through a combination of base pay and performance bonuses. Prop firms often require candidates to pass an evaluation or training period before being allowed to trade live capital.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level Prop Firm Trader, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Prop Firm Trader, you need a solid understanding of financial markets, basic quantitative analysis, and a relevant degree such as finance, economics, or mathematics. Familiarity with trading platforms (like MetaTrader or proprietary firm software), charting tools, and sometimes completion of firm-specific trading assessments or licenses is valuable. Strong discipline, resilience under pressure, and quick decision-making are crucial soft skills for successful trading. These abilities help manage risk effectively, maintain performance in volatile environments, and contribute to consistent profitability.

Job description

Prop Firm Match Global FZCO is a leading platform for discovering, comparing, and selecting top proprietary trading firms. We provide traders with tools and features to easily compare challenge details, read verified reviews, see accurate payout data, and much more. We're a fast-moving, fully remote team with members from all around the world caring deeply about the quality of what we build. Our culture values ownership, clear communication, and practical impact over fluff. Whether you're a trader, technologist, marketer, or operator - your work here shapes how thousands of users find and trust prop firms.
About the department
Data & Analytics is the function that turns raw business data into decisions. We own the data platform, product analytics, marketing attribution, and revenue operations analytics. Our current priority is building reliable data infrastructure that supports both day-to-day reporting and the next wave of AI-driven workflows at PFM.
About the role
Own firm performance monitoring, attribution integrity, commission reconciliation, and partner-facing commercial analytics. Ensure revenue tracking is reliable, discrepancies are caught early, financial impact is quantified, and partner conversations are backed by clear evidence.
Requirements
Performance objectives
Objective 1 - Monitor and protect tracking integrity
Outcome: Reduced revenue leakage; faster discrepancy detection.
Typical tasks:
  • Monitor TrackNow performance, postbacks, attribution gaps, and commission discrepancies daily.
  • Investigate tracking and attribution issues end-to-end.
  • Quantify financial impact of detected issues.
  • Escalate material issues to RevOps Manager and Head of D&A.

Objective 2 - Own reconciliation across systems
Outcome: Commission accuracy across PFM systems, TrackNow, affiliate dashboards, and partner platforms.
Typical tasks:
  • Maintain and reconcile commission data across systems.
  • Lead technical tracking conversations directly with firms when needed.
  • Document reconciliation outcomes and methodology.
  • Improve reconciliation tooling and automation.

Objective 3 - Manage open case tracker end-to-end
Outcome: Every open case has clear ownership, $ impact, deadlines, and resolution history.
Typical tasks:
  • Maintain a case tracker with the owner, $ impact, next steps, deadlines, and status.
  • Drive cases to resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document outcomes and lessons learned.
  • Identify systemic issues from case patterns.

Objective 4 - Support the Partners team with data-backed insights
Outcome: Stronger partner conversations; quantified commercial recommendations.
Typical tasks:
  • Produce firm-facing summaries of discrepancies and recommended solutions.
  • Build visual explanations for partner reviews.
  • Provide data backup for partner negotiations.
  • Surface partner-level trends to the Partners and Leadership teams.

What we look for
Must have
  • 2+ years of experience in revenue operations, analytics, or a related commercial-data role.
  • Strong SQL, spreadsheet, and data reconciliation skills.
  • Confidence presenting discrepancies and evidence to external partners.
  • Commercial awareness and comfort with messy, incomplete data.
  • Strong ownership mindset and follow-through discipline.
  • Excellent async written communication - we are remote-first.

Nice to have
  • Prior experience in fintech, prop trading, or affiliate ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with TrackNow or similar attribution / affiliate platforms.
  • Experience handling firm-facing or client-facing data conversations.
  • Process design experience for reconciliation or operational workflows.

Reporting cadence
  • Reports to: Head of Data & Analytics.
  • Direct reports: None.
  • Key cross-functional partners: Partners, Leadership, Partner Relations, Finance, Analytics.
  • Upward reporting cadence: Daily standup with RevOps Manager; weekly case review; monthly performance summary to Head of D&A.

Compensation
$2,500-$4,500 / month gross
Location & work setup
  • Remote, with strong overlap with CET hours (4+ hours of overlap).
  • Working hours: roughly 9 AM - 6 PM CET, with reasonable flexibility.
  • Employment type: Full-time.

We keep our process simple, transparent, and respectful of your time. Here's what to expect:

3. Discovery HR Interview
A conversation with our HR team focused on company and culture match. We'll walk you through how PFM works, what remote ownership looks like in practice, and what success in this role looks like. You'll have plenty of space to ask questions and share your goals.
4. Real-world task
An exercise using real PFM revenue data. Expect pipeline analysis, forecasting, or process efficiency challenges - representative of the day-to-day work in this role.
5. A deep-dive Professional interview
A deep-dive with the Head of Data & Analytics on your RevOps expertise - pipeline management, forecasting methodology, CRM operations, and how you create alignment between sales, marketing, and finance through clean, structured data.

7. Peer & values conversation
A conversation with a peer from across the team focused on values, culture, and how you work best. You'll have plenty of space to ask questions and get a real feel for life at PFM.

To keep things fully transparent and mutually fair, we complete a reference check before the formal offer is extended. No surprises - just part of how we make careful, informed decisions on both sides.
Before applying take into account that:â–¸ If you don't meet every single qualification but believe you can excel in the role based on what it requires - we encourage you to apply.
â–¸ We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
â–¸ Even if it's not listed as a formal requirement, we truly value candidates who have clear familiarity with the prop trading industry and us, our mission and what we do.
