Job description

Job Title: Engineer 1 (1 Electrical & 1 Mechanical discipline)

Immediate W2 contract position available in Birmingham, AL (Hybrid).

If not local, must be willing to relocate at own expense
Estimated Duration: 6 Months (assignment ends December 2026, great experience for other positions with this company)

Schedule: Hybrid schedule, 1 day remote

Job Description / Desired Qualifications:

  • The Engineer 1 position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Support the Comprehensive System Review Efforts and site Technical Evaluations (TEs)/ Preventive Maintenance Change Request (PMCR) backlog reduction efforts.
  • Help perform a single component vulnerability review for the recirc and RCS systems, by developing spreadsheets to compile data on components classification, health, and vendor and industry recommendations, and validate AI review and recommendations for maintenance strategy.
  • Input PMCR recommendations into Maximo per procedural guidance and recommendations provided in SCVR reports.
  • Review and provide justifications to resolve currently open vulnerabilities tracked in TEs.
  • Skillsets and expertise required for this position include introductory engineering knowledge, basic problem-solving skills, limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor, basic discipline software knowledge, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Skilled with report building in Excel or PowerBI
