Job description


BGIS is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the team in in Hartford, CT.
BGIS is a leading provider of integrated real estate management services, including facilities management, project management, energy & sustainability services, strategic workplace consulting, real estate services and capital planning. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for delivering on demand services relating to furniture systems and furniture repairs for multiple facilities. The position executes activities to ensure that work is performed in accordance with established processes and practices and is in compliant with all internal and external requirements including environmental, health and safety. The Maintenance Technician demonstrates BGIS values in communications with clients and other team members.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Service Focus
  • Assist in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered.
  • Complete removal, disposal and delivery of furniture.
  • Assemble furniture systems.
  • Ensures work order requests are completed on time ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain quality standards for BGIS and the client.
  • Perform activities in accordance to established processes as well as internal and external requirements.
  • Monitor sub-contractors to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Perform regular walkthroughs to provide observations about furniture condition and deficiencies and offers recommendations for enhancement and repair.
  • Respond to routine and on demand service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance relating to furniture systems and furniture repairs.
  • Maintain work order records within service management maintenance database.
  • Participate in facility related projects.
  • Maintain all assigned tools and arrange for repair and replacement as required.
  • Submit all expenditures on a timely basis.
  • Attend training, safety meetings, operational meetings, toolbox talks and other information sessions.
  • Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus some trade related training.
  • Ability to adhere and properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Experience in assembling/disassembling furniture systems preferred.
  • Previous work in basic furniture repairs such as arm, aster, and pneumatic cylinder preferred.
  • Strong environmental, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner.
  • Strong client service orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute positively to teamwork.
  • Entry level knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office.

The salary range for this position in the US is $25-$30 Per Hour.
