A well-capitalized construction and manufacturing company in the Southeast is hiring an entry-level Assistant Project Manager to join their Program Management team. This role is built for someone early in their career who is organized, detail-driven, and ready to own a real workload on day one — not sit in the background. The company offers a defined advancement path, support for licenses and certifications, and a front-row seat to one of the more innovative delivery models in the construction industry right now.

  • Birmingham, Alabama — 25-50% travel to active job sites (primarily Southeast and Texas)

Overview:

Program Coordination:

  • Maintain project schedules, milestone logs, and coordination artifacts across assigned programs

  • Support documentation for module transfers and project handoffs
  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings; contribute to agendas and minutes
  • Assist in project closeout: document organization, punch list tracking, and warranty turnover

Field Support:

  • Provide on-site support during module installation, punch, and key construction milestones
  • Assist with on-site material receiving and tracking
  • Support subcontractor onboarding and orientation
  • Generate safety and quality observation reports
  • Maintain accurate on-site documentation: daily logs, photos, and issue tracking
  • Assist the Field PM with client progress reporting

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in construction, manufacturing, or project management
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel — formulas, sorting and filtering, basic pivot tables
  • Familiarity with at least one scheduling platform: MS Project, Primavera P6, or Smartsheet
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25-50%
  • Ownership mindset; commitment to safety and quality

Preferred — strong differentiators:

  • Exposure to estimating, cost analysis, or data analytics in construction or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, or data modeling tools
  • Familiarity with CAD, Revit, or SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools
  • Familiarity with BI tools and data visualization platforms
  • Design-build exposure
