TRC is seeking an entry-level Environmental Technicianin the Emission Testing Practice of our Baton Rouge, Louisiana office to assist with the performance of air emissions testing projects at various industrial facilities. Our projects help industry achieve environmental compliance while maintaining productivity.

TRC serves a broad range of clients in government and industry, implementing complex projects from initial concept to delivery and operation.
Responsibilities
  • Projects involve a considerable amount of overnight travel, generally in the Gulf Coast; however, projects may be all over the world. The field-testing portion of each project typically lasts from 1 to 5 days and the test teams are generally home on the weekends, but some projects may require working or traveling on a weekend. The number of people needed in the field and the number of days in the field, varies with each project and changes from week to week. Expect 75% of the weeks to involve field work.
  • Under supervision, set up equipment and collect samples at facility emissions sources that may require working at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions, including but not limited to: heat, cold, humidity, snow, rain, wind, direct sunlight, and noise.
  • Coordinate field work, equipment logistics and DOT-regulated driving.
  • Support equipment repair, calibration, and maintenance

Qualifications
  • Must be able to comfortably lift and carry 50 pounds. The testing projects can involve moving equipment to, and working at, elevated test locations, such as an exhaust stack platform or a rooftop. Access to the test location may be by elevator, stairs, or a ladder.
  • Completion of assigned responsibilities in a team setting with strong written and oral communication skills, and moderate computer skills.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test (including marijuana) prior to employment or within five working days from date of hire. Once hired, participation in the TRC random drug testing program.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and successful completion of a pre-employment motor vehicle records check. Once hired, maintaining valid DOT driver status (not Commercial Driver's License) is required.
  • Successful completion of all required annual safety training.
  • Office responsibilities may include field data QC; entering data into Excel spreadsheets; equipment repair, maintenance and calibration.
  • High School diploma or GED is required, college degree in science or engineering preferred.
  • Willingness to learn is more important (or equal to) than experience.
  • A current, valid passport is a plus.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
