Job Details
The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all clients, visitors, and employees. This role requires professionalism, attentiveness, and the ability to remain calm and courteous while enforcing site policies and ensuring compliance with company and client standards.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unwanted activity and promote a safe environment.
  • Observe and report safety hazards, security incidents, and unusual activity in a timely manner.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and access control points in accordance with site post orders.
  • Enforce Prosegur, client, and State of Missouri Private Security Section requirements.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
  • Provide customer service and assistance to visitors, employees, and contractors as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and law enforcement when appropriate.
  • Perform routine patrols (foot or vehicle, depending on site), and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuations or medical response when directed.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must comply with all Prosegur and client policies, as well as State of Missouri Private Security Section regulations.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid St. Louis Unarmed Security License (issued by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department - Private Security Section).
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Minimum 21 years of age (per Missouri unarmed licensing requirements).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow directions, complete assignments, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and meet all licensing compliance requirements.

Preferred:
  • Previous experience in security, customer service, military, or law enforcement.
  • Knowledge of basic security operations, access control, and emergency response procedures.
  • Basic computer literacy (for completing reports and using security software).
