In this role, you'll contribute to the U.S.

Navy Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) program, working alongside engineers, technicians, and fleet operators to ensure mission-critical combat systems remain fully operational and ready to support national defense. About the role: As an SSDS Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the operational readiness of the U.S. Navy's Ship Self Defense System (SSDS).

Working onsite at Wallops Island, Virginia, you'll perform hands-on maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and system restoration activities on complex combat system equipment. Every day presents new technical challenges as you collaborate with experienced engineers, technicians, and government personnel to maintain and improve mission-essential capabilities that directly support the Fleet. Responsibilities: * Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) equipment and associated subsystems. * Assess, troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve hardware and system-level faults using technical documentation and diagnostic tools. * Conduct operational testing and verification following maintenance activities to ensure systems meet performance requirements.

* Document maintenance actions, troubleshooting activities, and system status in accordance with customer procedures. * Support scheduled maintenance periods, system upgrades, and equipment installations. * Collaborate with engineers, government personnel, and fellow technicians to resolve complex technical issues.

* Maintain compliance with established safety, security, and quality assurance procedures. * Assist in identifying equipment reliability improvements and recommending corrective actions when appropriate. Required Skills and Experience: * Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) equipment or similar electronic combat systems. * Experience diagnosing hardware, electronic, or integrated system faults using technical documentation and test equipment.

* Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, maintenance procedures, and engineering documentation. * Experience documenting maintenance actions and following established maintenance processes. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team environment.

* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills and Experience: * Experience supporting U.S.

Navy combat systems, weapons systems, or integrated shipboard electronic systems. * Familiarity with Navy maintenance procedures and technical documentation. * Experience supporting system installation, integration, or testing activities.

* Prior military service supporting Navy combat systems or equivalent defense contractor experience. * Experience working in a Department of Defense environment. * Familiarity with configuration management and quality assurance processes.

Education and Certification Requirements: * High school diploma or GED required. * Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred. * Relevant military technical training may be substituted for formal education where applicable.

Citizenship and Clearance requirements: * U.S. Citizenship required * No dual citizenship * Active Secret clearance required * Active Top Secret clearance preferred Location/Address: * Onsite * Wallops Island, Virginia Travel & Passport: * Under 10% travel. * Primarily CONUS travel for occasional customer meetings, technical support, or training.

Work Environment: * PMAT offices as needed. In some cases, work in a government facility may be required. Travel may be required for customer engagement, team coordination, and potentially for business development.
