Description:

Position Summary


The instructor is responsible for providing high-quality didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction in a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program. The instructor supports the Program Director in delivering a curriculum that meets CAAHEP and JRC-DMS accreditation standards while preparing students for entry-level practice and national credentialing examinations. The instructor promotes student success through effective teaching, mentorship, professional role modeling, and evaluation of student learning.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


•Teach assigned didactic, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical courses in accordance with the approved curriculum.

•Demonstrate proper sonographic scanning techniques, image acquisition, instrumentation, and patient care procedures.

•Evaluate student knowledge and clinical competencies through examinations, laboratory assessments, practical evaluations, and clinical performance reviews.

•Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, competency assessments, and student progress in accordance with institutional policies.

•Provide timely feedback, academic advising, and mentoring to students.

•Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment that emphasizes patient safety, ethics, and professionalism.

•Collaborate with the Program Director and faculty to ensure compliance with CAAHEP/JRC-DMS accreditation standards.

•Utilize instructional technology and learning management systems to support classroom and online instruction.

•Participate in faculty meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and professional development activities as assigned.

•Adhere to institutional policies, FERPA regulations.


Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications


•Associate degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a closely related healthcare field (Bachelor's degree preferred).

•Current professional credential(s) appropriate to the teaching assignment (e.g., RDMS (AB, OB/GYN, RVT,) through ARDMS.

•Minimum of two years of full-time clinical experience in diagnostic medical sonography.
