Job description

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to support reporting and analytics initiatives for a life sciences organization in Evanston, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position focuses on building high-quality dashboards, strengthening data models, and improving report performance for business users. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Power BI along with a solid understanding of data optimization and scalable reporting solutions within a pharmaceutical or related regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Develop and refine complex data models to support accurate reporting, efficient analysis, and scalable business intelligence solutions.
• Optimize report performance by improving queries, streamlining datasets, and applying best practices for data retrieval and visualization.
• Partner with business and technical teams to gather reporting needs and translate them into effective analytics deliverables.
• Create and support reporting solutions that incorporate data from multiple sources while maintaining consistency and reliability.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues, investigate data discrepancies, and implement fixes to improve usability and accuracy.
• Contribute to SSRS and related reporting efforts when needed to support broader business intelligence objectives.
• Document reporting logic, data definitions, and development standards to support long-term maintainability and team collaboration.• Proven hands-on experience developing reports and dashboards with Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong background in advanced data modeling for analytics and business intelligence applications.
