Job description

About the role and team 

Uber is seeking a Sr Manager, Tax to lead and enhance our federal tax provision and advisory processes. In this high impact role, you'll own U.S. federal tax provision under ASC 740 while collaborating with US International Tax, SALT and Quantitative Analysis teams.  You'll mentor and develop the federal tax team, fostering a dynamic and high-performance culture.

Rate of Pay:                 $243,214 to $291,857 per year

What You'll Do 

  • Own the international portion of US income tax calculation and provision, with advanced experience on Subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, foreign tax credits and cash repatriation. 
  • Provide US tax technical support and partner with various external advisors and internal stakeholders to develop and implement tax strategies. 
  • Proactively support US international tax planning, merger and acquisition, post-merger integration and other functions. 
  • Support tax modeling and forecasting. 
  • Strategize the US international tax aspects of the process improvements and automation to drive efficiency. 
  • Monitor US international related legislative and regulatory changes and advise management on tax impacts to Uber's operations. 
  • Function as a US international tax technical resource to the compliance team related to strategic initiatives and legislative changes. 
  • Manage and mentor an excellent team of tax professionals. 
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners and leaders in
  • Accounting, Finance, Legal and many other internal teams. 
  • Supervise at least 1 Manager, US International Tax / 13-2011.00, Accountants and Auditors. 
  • May telecommute.
     

Basic Qualifications 

  • Employer will accept a Master's degree in Taxation or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a business-related occupation. 
  • Position requires: 
    • Income taxation;
    • Experience with a large sized/national public accounting firm;
    • Applying complex US and foreign tax concepts to client situations;
    • Performing tax compliance and consulting
    • Multi-national corporation experience;
    • Foreign tax credit planning;
    • International income taxation, including large cross border transactions involving multinational companies; and
    • Supervising teams consisting of at least 2 people on multiple projects and providing direction to team members.
