FARM LABORER (Casual/On-Call)

Role Overview

The Farm Laborer is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the farm and landscape areas at The Club at Kukui'ula. This position performs a variety of farm, horticultural, landscaping, and grounds maintenance duties to ensure the property's agricultural and landscaped areas remain healthy, safe, and visually appealing. Working under the direction of the Farm Foreperson and Farm Production Foreperson, the Farm Laborer assists with planting, irrigation, mowing, pruning, weed control, fertilization, equipment operation, and general maintenance tasks. This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in horticulture, farming, landscaping, and outdoor maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in farming, landscaping, groundskeeping, or horticulture preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of horticulture, plant care, or propagation is helpful.
  • Experience operating landscaping equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and landscape maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to safety and following work instructions.
  • Willingness to learn new farming and landscaping techniques.

Requirements

  • Perform planting, transplanting, and garden bed maintenance.
  • Mow lawns and maintain turf using walk-behind mowers and other equipment.
  • Perform weed-eating, edging, trimming, and blowing of landscape areas.
  • Apply fertilizers and assist with pesticide applications in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Assist with irrigation system maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Prune trees, shrubs, and plants.
  • Operate line trimmers, edgers, blowers, and other powered landscape equipment.
  • Safely operate electric- and fuel-powered tools.
  • Use hand tools, hoses, planting materials, and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform general farm and landscape maintenance as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Perform physically demanding work including lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Salary Range

$20.40 to $24.00 USD hourly.
