Job description

Reno Staffing is looking for a temporary Maintenance Tech for an apartment community in the Downtown Reno Area!


This position is Temporary. Located in town on a bus line.

Shift: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Pay: $20
Location: Downtown Reno
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks to ensure the proper upkeep of the property. This role involves responding to maintenance requests, performing repairs, and ensuring that all systems and equipment within the property are in good working condition
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for responding promptly to resident service calls and completing maintenance items required to prepare vacant units for new residents in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Participate in the on-call rotation and be available for after-hours maintenance emergencies at least once per month or scheduled by supervisor
  3. Perform minor and routine maintenance and repair daily (these include):
    1. Electrical and plumbing (including sewer lines).
    2. A/C and heating systems (proper certification may be required for some repairs).
    3. Appliances (when applicable).
    4. Water irrigation systems.
    5. Stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings.
    6. Tile, carpet, flooring.
    7. Roofing, gutters, fasteners.
    8. Interior/exterior lights.
    9. Fireplaces, ceiling fans.
    10. Gas fixtures and appliances (when applicable).
    11. Shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors, boilers, gas, and electric.
    12. Door locks, mailboxes and locks.
    13. Security systems and fire protection equipment.
    14. Ceiling leaks.
    15. Walls.
    16. Pool area, tile, Jacuzzi, pool furniture.
  4. Assist in keeping ground neat and free of litter. Rake, sweep, and shovel as circumstances warrant.
  5. Assist in unit turns.
  6. Inspect vacated apartments and complete make-ready checklist.
  7. Constantly be aware of the condition of physical property throughout the property and immediately correct unsafe conditions like broken gates leading to pools, open holes and broken exterior lights.
  8. Report on all repairs and requisitions to the Maintenance Manager or Property Manager.
  9. Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and maintenance materials.
  10. Perform routine preventive maintenance on all appropriate equipment.
  11. Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
At the discretion of your lead or supervisor, you could be required to perform additional job related activities not specifically outlined above.

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Use safety equipment (for example, goggles, masks, gloves) as tasks dictate.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Provide your own basic tools and be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance thereof.
