Job description

Position Purpose
The Jr. Operator is responsible for performing physical movement of raw materials and finished product. Responsible for collaborating with Production Team to move material and finished product smoothly and safely. Support Machine Operator with bag production. Work independently to accomplish tasks around the plant assigned by Plant Manager.
Shift Hours: SAT/SUN 3:00pm - 11:00PM
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED diploma.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and transfer them manually.
  • Must be able to lift up to eighty pounds dead weight.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 12 months previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to detect potential problems with raw material or finished product.
  • Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operating and monitoring bundler equipment at established production rates within a production environment.
  • Recognize defects in raw material and finished product, quickly notify machine operator or supervisor.
  • Establish a working relationship with Machine Operator to assist in preventive maintenance, cleaning the machine and fixing issues with the machine.
  • Label bales properly.
  • Place bales on skids manually and with equipment.
  • Use proper lifting techniques.
  • Keep a clean worksite to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products.
  • Other miscellaneous duties assigned by management.

Additional Tasks
  • Treats all Eco Pack stakeholders with dignity and respect.
  • Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect staff and themselves.
  • Maintains confidentiality of protected production information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
  • Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
  • Reports any retaliation or discrimination to Human Resources or Plant Manager.
  • Participate and train in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the plant's emergency plan.
  • Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to Plant Manager.
  • As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and safety competency.
  • Follow all plant established safety guidelines.

  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
  • Ability to work under conditions such as heat and cold.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 80lbs.
