Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer
Location Options: Naperville, IL /Atlanta, GA

Our Design Engineering Division provides comprehensive engineering, design, analysis and consulting for the energy sector. As a Kinectrics Engineer your work will help maintain a safe and sustainable zero-emission energy source, providing engineering solutions for traditional nuclear as well as some of the newest technologies in nuclear today!
About the Job
As an entry-level Mechanical Engineer you will work with a team of engineers on client projects involving mechanical design and analysis for modifications to the physical structures of nuclear power plants. As you begin to learn the requirements of the role and you will apply your academic knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design and reinforced concrete to projects for various clients.
  • In this position you will work with a team of engineers on projects involving modifications to existing nuclear power generation plants and associated plant mechanical systems.
  • Under the mentorship of senior engineering staff you will participate in the design and preparation of design packages for nuclear power plants.
  • You will work with other engineering disciplines in the completion of client projects.
  • Read design drawings and technical specifications.
  • Prepare project deliverables including engineering calculations, specifications, and evaluations.
  • Learn how to use and apply industry codes and government regulations along with discipline-specific computer analysis codes.
  • Occasional travel to client and plant site locations for design reviews, construction coordination and field verification of designs as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or associated field from ABET accredited program.
  • 0-2 years of related practical work experience.
  • Academic and/or applied knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
  • Familiarity of tools and principals involved in the production of technical plans, fabrication drawings, and models.
  • Experience with CAD Software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future.
