Position Description
As a Piping Apprentice you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems under the supervision of experienced foreman. This entry-level position provides hands-on training in the trade and offers opportunities to learn proper techniques, safety standards, and best practices within the piping field. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, dependable, and willing to follow directions while contributing to a safe and productive work environment. Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Assist piping mechanics with the installation, layout, and assembly of various piping systems.
  • Support the preparation, transport, and organization of materials, tools, and equipment on the job site.
  • Learn and follow company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and ensure proper care of tools and equipment.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and senior mechanics to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Develop a working understanding of tools, materials, and techniques used in the piping trade.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support daily project goals.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop technical skills and trade knowledge.

Position Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience:
  • Per state of Kentucky, applicants must be at least 18 years of age or have a high school diploma.
  • Little to no construction experience required
  • Must have or be in the process of obtaining basic hand tools.

Physical Requirements:
  • Work may be performed indoors, outdoors, and with varying weather conditions.
  • Position requires mobility to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, or move in various positions depending on job duties.
  • Work may involve occasionally moving or lifting materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Reliable attendance required to meet project and training schedules.
