This entry level opportunity as a Field Operator (Maintenance Operations Technician) is designed to set you up for success! You will receive training, mentorship, and the chance to work alongside experience professionals.
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Operations Technician supports the day-to-day operation and maintenance of midstream field equipment and pipeline facilities. This entry-level role assists Field Operators with operational tasks, inspections, preventative maintenance, and routine field activities.
This is a developmental position designed to provide hands-on training and experience with the opportunity to advance into a Field Operator role based on performance, training, business needs, and demonstrated readiness.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIE

  • Assist Field Operators with routine pipeline inspections, operations, and maintenance activities.
  • Perform basic operational checks at meter stations, compressor sites, valves, and pig launchers/receivers.
  • Assist with routine preventative maintenance, including greasing valves, changing filters, tightening connections, and other basic maintenance activities.
  • Assist with pipeline pigging activities under the direction of experienced Field Operators.
  • Drive to remote field locations to perform inspections, maintenance, and operational support.
  • Conduct line inspections and identify potential operational or maintenance concerns.
  • Collect, record, and maintain field operational data.
  • Monitor equipment and field conditions and promptly communicate irregularities or potential issues to the Field Operator or Supervisor.
  • Assist with minor equipment maintenance and repairs as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at field locations and facilities.
  • Assist contractors and vendors as directed while ensuring compliance with company safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and job hazard assessments.
  • Perform other field operations and maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of industrial or mechanical experience preferred; oil and gas or plant or field operations experience is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills; familiarity with Microsoft Excel and maintenance systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to operate variance pieces of equipment i.e., tractor, mower, manlift, pressure washer, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions:
  • Working outdoors most of the time in various weather conditions and on uneven and/or slippery surfaces.
  • Working indoors occasionally at a workstation using a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Exposure to natural gas, chemicals, heavy equipment, and sharp and hazardous tools in plant areas.
  • Work is performed at a plant facility with exposure to loud noise, machinery, and hazardous materials.

  • This role provides foundational experience in plant operations and maintenance and is designed as a steppingstone to the Plant or Field Operator positions based on performance, training, and business need. Within your first year, you will need to demonstrate the ability and readiness to transition into a plant or field-based role.
