Inside Sales Specialist

Full-Time | Springfield, OH
Kincaid’s Music helps students, parents, educators, and musicians make confident decisions about instruments, rentals, upgrades, and accessories. Many customers know what they want to play, but not what they need to succeed. Your role is to guide them with clarity, confidence, and follow-through.
This is inside sales, not a cashier role.
Compensation & Schedule
Base Pay: $31,200/year (entry level)
Commission: Uncapped, tied directly to performance
Benefits:
• Paid vacation and sick time
• Health, dental, and vision insurance
• Life insurance
• Simple IRA with company match
• Short- and long-term disability
• Generous employee discounts
Schedule: Mon-Wed, Fri 9a–6p and Sat 9a–1p (off Thursdays)
If performance-based pay excites you, keep reading. If it doesn’t, this won’t be a fit.
Why This Role Exists
Throughout the year, we serve parents navigating band and orchestra programs, students choosing or upgrading instruments, and guitar, drum, digital piano, and pro audio customers in-store. Many feel unsure or overwhelmed.
Your job is to understand their situation, guide them well, and close the loop.
What You’ll Do
Guide customers in-store, by phone, email, text, and chat
Ask good questions and listen carefully to recommend solutions that actually fit
Learn our instruments, rentals, accessories, and programs well enough to be a trusted expert
Follow up consistently until the customer is fully taken care of
Create reviews, referrals, and repeat customers through great service
Look for sales opportunities instead of waiting for traffic
Document conversations clearly so the team stays aligned
What Success Looks Like
• Customers trust your guidance
• You follow through without reminders
• You hit goals through service, not pressure
• Teammates trust your word
• You keep learning and improving your craft
Requirements
Background in music (band, orchestra, private study, or equivalent experience)
Comfort standing and staying active most of the day
Ability to learn product details and apply them confidently
Comfort using CRM and software tools (G Suite, ActiveCampaign, Podium, Freshdesk)
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Willingness to be paid partly on performance

Do Not Apply If You
• Avoid follow-up
• Dislike accountability or feedback
• Expect customers to decide without guidance
• Have no connection to music
• Want a low-pressure, clock-punching role
If you want to grow your skills, be trusted by customers, and own your results, apply today!
