Job Title: Physics Clinic Tutor (WS)

Classification: Student Employee (non-exempt)

Length of Position: See Employment Authorization  

Contact Person/Supervisor: Professor in charge of clinics 

Wage Range: $11.75-12.75/hour

Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): 

To assist students in entry level physics courses with the understanding of course materials.  


Transferable Skills: 

1. Ability to evaluate student work and to provide constructive feedback 

2. Ability to engage students in discussion of course concepts 

3. Ability to prioritize student needs for a given tutor session 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Communicate with the supervising professor about current course content & assignments 

2. Staff evening walk-in tutoring sessions for students in intro physics courses 

3. Assist students in understanding of course concepts 


4. Assist students in process of solving assigned problems 

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

Student who have completed a significant number of physics major courses preferred. Students who have completed PHYS 124 & 125 courses will also be considered.
