Responsibilities
The Position:
The AI Quality Engineer I supports the Process Assurance organization by designing, developing, and maintaining AI-enabled and automated solutions that enhance quality, compliance, and audit readiness across the software development lifecycle. In addition to Process Assurance initiatives, this role may also support AI-enabled automation efforts for other processes within the overall Global Quality organization, as priorities and capacity allow.
This role is primarily focused on AI and automation development, with the remainder portion of time contributing to core Process Assurance activities to support the Process Assurance team. The position partners closely with Quality leadership, Software Engineering, and other stakeholders to help improve efficiency, consistency, scalability, and data-driven decision-making within quality and compliance workflows.
AI & Automation Development (Primary Focus)
  • Design, develop, and maintain AI-enabled and automation solutions to support and enhance Process Assurance activities.
  • Apply AI, data analysis, and automation techniques to improve efficiency, consistency, scalability, and quality of compliance workflows.
  • Analyze and interpret software lifecycle artifacts (e.g., requirements, tests, reviews, defect records, audit artifacts) to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop AI-driven approaches to data analysis, metrics generation, and trend identification to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Build systems that leverage historical quality data (e.g., defects, incidents, audits, corrective actions) to help identify patterns and prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Contribute to the automation and standardization of reviews, assessments, and audit-support activities while preserving appropriate human oversight and accountability.
  • Assist with root cause and corrective action analysis through data aggregation, pattern recognition, and analytical support.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering and other stakeholders to integrate AI and automation capabilities into existing enterprise tools and workflows.
  • Identify and propose new opportunities for AI augmentation or automation within the Process Assurance function.
  • Ensure AI and automation solutions align with organizational governance, security, and quality management system requirements.
  • Support automation of Process Assurance task creation, tracking, and assignment within enterprise work management systems.
  • Support the development of AI-enabled and automated solutions for quality-related processes beyond Process Assurance, including other Global Quality functions, when aligned with organizational priorities.

Process Assurance Support (Secondary Focus)
  • Support verification activities related to quality, compliance, and traceability across the software development lifecycle.
  • Assist with execution of selected Process Assurance activities such as reviews, assessments, or data collection to support team workload as needed.
  • Participate in quality reviews and process improvement initiatives under the guidance of the Process Assurance Manager and senior team members.
  • Contribute to maintaining audit readiness by supporting preparation, organization, or analysis of quality records and metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and continuous improvement efforts.

The salary range of $69,000 - $115,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field required.
  • Entry-level or early-career experience (typically 0-2 years) in one or more of the following areas:
    • Software development, scripting, or automation
    • Data analysis or analytics
    • Quality engineering, QA, or process improvement
  • Academic, intern, or project experience applying automation, data analysis, or AI concepts to real-world problems is acceptable.
  • Foundational understanding of software development lifecycles and quality assurance concepts.
  • Experience or coursework involving at least one of the following:
    • Programming or scripting (e.g., Python or similar)
    • Automation frameworks or tooling
    • Data analysis, metrics, or visualization
    • Introductory AI or machine-learning concepts
  • Ability to analyze data and technical artifacts to identify trends, patterns, or gaps.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to learn and apply quality standards, internal procedures, and customer or regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and interest in using automation and AI to improve processes.

This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year.
