PCAs work under supervision, usually in clients’ homes or residential care facilities, to ensure safety and improve quality of life for those with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or age-related conditions. Entry level positions typically require minimal formal education, but on-the-job training is common. Compassion, patience, and good communication skills are important qualities for this role.
