What We're Looking For:
Pastry Cook III is an entry-level role responsible for assisting in the preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods. This position supports the pastry team in delivering high-quality, consistent products that meet the hotel's standards and guest expectations.
Who You Are:
- Excellent knowledge of baking and pastries
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of chocolate work: i.e. tempering
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of sugar work: i.e. temperatures and sugar pulling
- Thorough knowledge of wedding cake assembly and decor
- Outstanding management, organizational, communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays

What You Will Do:
- Assist in preparing and baking pastries, breads, cookies, and desserts
- Support daily mise en place for restaurants, banquets, and in-room dining
- Follow recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry workstation
- Practice proper food handling, storage, and sanitation (HACCP compliant)
- Label and rotate all food items to ensure freshness and reduce waste
- Use kitchen tools and equipment safely and correctly
- Assist with seasonal, holiday, and special event pastry preparation
- Work closely with senior pastry staff to learn techniques and improve skills
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Regular attendance in conformance with standards
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs
- Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications Include:
Required
- 0-1 year of professional pastry or baking experience (internships accepted)
- Basic understanding of pastry techniques and terminology
- Strong desire to grow and develop professionally
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Team player with excellent attitude and work ethic
Preferred
- Certificate or diploma in Culinary or Pastry Arts
