Entry-Level Staff Environmental Scientist I (Field & Office)

✅ In-Office & Field Position (Not a Remote Work Position)

Position Overview

Geo Forward is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist I to join our Pasadena office. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in environmental science and engineering.

The position involves a mix of fieldwork and office-based tasks, supporting projects such as environmental assessments, geological investigations, pollution and contamination remediation, and more.

This position does not entail remote work, nor does it entail a hybrid work schedule. This position entails attending work at the Pasadena office and/or job-sites (field).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $48,000 – $55,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Paid Overtime

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field sampling activities (soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and other environmental media)
  • Schedule and set-up projects
  • Maintain detailed field notes and documentation
  • Prepare technical reports, figures, and data tables
  • Work closely with project managers, geologists, and engineers
  • Travel to project sites throughout Southern California as needed
  • Assist with drilling oversight, well installation, and site investigations
  • Support Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Perform site inspections, monitoring, and data collection

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree any science relative and practical to the environmental industry
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable conditions (heat, cold, uneven terrain)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Punctuality
  • Dependability
  • Willingness to work overtime if/when required
