Job description

Bachelor's Degree Required to Apply

Katapult Network is designed to help college graduates with zero to two years of professional experience find their next professional career opportunity. We focus on helping recent college graduates, with no experience, get access to full-time, entry-level opportunities with some of the Nation’s top employers. Our clients include ground-breaking start-up companies and well-established billion-dollar organizations who want to find their next generation of talent.

The Job: Business Development Associate

We are currently seeking an entry-level Business Development Associate to join a growing organization that provides products and solutions to customers in agricultural, irrigation, and related industries. This role is ideal for recent graduates who enjoy working with people, learning how products work, solving practical problems, and building long-term customer relationships.

This isn't a sales role where you'll spend your entire day cold calling. You'll prospect for new business while also working directly with customers, learning the products, supporting existing accounts, and helping customers find the right solutions for their needs. You'll interact with customers over the phone and in person while developing hands-on experience in sales, account management, and business development.

What You Will Be Doing As A Business Development Associate:

  • Prospect for new customers through outbound cold calls, referrals, research, and relationship building
  • Build relationships with new and existing customers through phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Learn customer operations and needs to recommend appropriate products and solutions
  • Develop strong product knowledge and become a trusted resource for customers
  • Follow up on leads, quotes, customer requests, and potential sales opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and develop additional business
  • Prepare quotes, assist with orders, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met
  • Provide responsive customer service and help resolve questions or issues as they arise
  • Maintain accurate customer information, account activity, and sales opportunities within company systems
  • Learn the business from experienced team members while taking on increasing responsibility for customer relationships and sales growth

What We’re Looking For In a Business Development Associate:

  • Hands-On Mindset: Enjoys learning how products work, understanding practical applications, and finding solutions that make sense for the customer
  • Dependability: Follows through on commitments and takes ownership of customer needs from start to finish
  • Relationship Building: Enjoys getting to know customers and developing long-term business relationships
  • Initiative: Willing to prospect, make cold calls, follow up consistently, and create new opportunities
  • Problem Solving: Comfortable asking questions, understanding what a customer needs, and finding practical solutions
  • Adaptability: Able to balance sales, customer service, account management, and changing priorities throughout the day
  • Communication: Approachable and professional when working with customers, teammates, and business partners

Requirements to be a Business Development Associate:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Interest in or familiarity with agriculture, irrigation, equipment, trades, or other hands-on environments is preferred
