Automotive Service Manager (Entry-Level Service Writer)

At Delaney Tire and Auto, we are dedicated to providing expert vehicle inspection, diagnosis, and repair. We leverage ASE-certified expertise and years of hands-on experience to keep our customers on the road. 
We are currently seeking an Entry-Level Service Writer to manage our service department activities. This is a Store Manager developmental role; we are committed to training our associates and promoting from within the organization. 
Responsibilities
As an Entry-Level Service Writer, you will oversee the daily operations of the shop and lead our team of general service technicians. Key duties include: 
  • Customer Experience: Deliver exceptional service by consulting with customers, listening to their needs, and providing clear updates on service estimates and completion times.
  • Service Coordination: Oversee vehicle inspections, build computerized repair orders, source parts, and make comprehensive repair recommendations.
  • Sales & Estimates: Present pricing estimates to customers and promote shop service specials.
  • Leadership: Lead, manage, and train a team of up to 10 employees while upholding our company’s vision and core values.
  • Shop Oversight: Supervise the diagnosis and repair of domestic, European, and Asian vehicles (cars and light trucks).
  • Inventory & Maintenance: Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and professional. 
Qualifications
  • Knowledge: General automotive mechanical knowledge.
  • Service Skills: Excellent communication skills and a customer-first disposition.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build teams and lead others effectively.
