Job description

Company Overview:

Established in February 2025, Synergy Siteworks brings a refreshing and uniquely client-centric approach to commercial site development in the Central Florida market. Founded by a team with extensive backgrounds in general contracting, construction management, real estate development, and owner representation, we operate with a deep, insider understanding of the real estate development lifecycle.

At Synergy Siteworks, we approach every project through the lens of an owner and developer. This perspective allows us to deliver comprehensive, solution-based services with unparalleled transparency and honest reporting. We've built our company on the principle of "synergy" – fostering mutually advantageous partnerships, collaborating to create something greater.

We understand the common pitfalls and pain points associated with sitework, and our proactive approach and engagement ensure that projects are executed smoothly. Our goal is not just to deliver exceptional results, but to ensure that the entire experience of working with Synergy Siteworks is positive, reliable, and fundamentally "feels good."

Holding Certified General Contractor, Certified Underground Utility Contractor, and Fire Protection Contractor V licenses, Synergy Siteworks is equipped to provide comprehensive site development services, always with an unwavering commitment to our clients' success.

Position Summary:

We are entering a significant phase of strategic growth and are seeking a sharp, ambitious early-career professional to join our team as an Assistant Project Manager. This is an entry-level position with a civil construction company, ideal for a recent college graduate in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with relevant internship experience, or a candidate with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. We're looking for raw talent and the right attitude, and we will train the right person on our software, systems, and processes.

The Assistant Project Manager will work directly under the Operations Manager and will also assist the Construction Project and Administration Manager, learning the business from the ground up across estimating, field operations, subcontractor coordination, and project closeout. This is a hands-on, mentorship-driven role with a clear runway toward a future Project Manager position – we are looking to invest in someone and grow them into a leader within our company.

The ideal candidate is a resourceful, self-starting young professional who is smart, coachable, and a quick learner. You should be comfortable being out on an active job site, confident with technology and computers, and genuinely excited to learn AI tools and new software – we'll teach you the rest. If you're ambitious, responsible, and looking for a company that will invest in your growth, this is your opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution Support: Assist the Operations Manager and Construction Project and Administration Manager with the day-to-day management of assigned projects, including regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.

  • Subcontractor & Trade Coordination: Coordinate the scheduling and sequencing of trade partners and vendors to maintain field momentum; assist in resolving day-to-day field issues and escalate complex matters as needed.

  • Pre-Construction & Estimating Support: Assist the Estimating and Operations Manager with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bid solicitation, proposal preparation, and buyout of assigned projects.

  • Scheduling: Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules (Microsoft Project), tracking milestones and flagging potential delays.

  • Procore & Documentation: Support project operations within Procore, including RFIs, submittals, drawing logs, punch lists, and daily field reports.

  • Financial Support: Assist with change order pricing, pay application preparation, budget tracking, and cost-to-complete reporting for management review.

  • Client & Team Communication: Attend project meetings, prepare progress updates, and support clear, transparent communication between the field, office, and clients.

  • Quality, Safety & Closeout: Conduct job site walks to monitor quality and safety compliance; assist with punch list management and the project closeout process, including final documentation and warranties.

  • Process Improvement: Assist the Operations Manager in developing and refining standard processes, checklists, and procedures for project management and field operations.

Core Traits & Skills:

  • Resourcefulness & Self-Starting: A proactive problem-solver who figures things out, asks good questions, and takes initiative without needing to be micromanaged.

  • Field Presence: Comfortable and confident on active construction sites; not afraid to get out of the office and learn by doing.

  • Tech-Savvy & Curious: Strong general comfort with computers and technology, and a genuine willingness to learn AI tools and new software – we will train you on Procore, Bluebeam, and our other systems.

  • Quick Learner & Coachable: Smart, sharp, and eager to absorb feedback and new information quickly; thrives with mentorship and hands-on training.

  • Organization & Follow-Through: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and see tasks through to completion.

  • Communication & Collaboration: A true team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills who maintains a professional and pleasant demeanor with trade partners and clients alike.

  • Ambition & Responsibility: A driven young professional who takes ownership of their work and is motivated to grow into a Project Manager role.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with relevant internship experience, OR a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, or a related industry in lieu of a degree.

  • Basic understanding of civil and architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.

  • Understanding of Microsoft Project or similar construction scheduling software.

  • Hands-on proficiency with, or strong willingness to learn, Procore construction management software.

  • Strong general comfort with computers, technology, and learning new software; comfortable working with or willing to learn Excel, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.

  • Genuine curiosity about and willingness to learn AI tools and emerging technology to improve how we work.

  • Willingness to learn the fundamentals of civil sitework, including earthwork, underground utilities, grading, and paving – we will train you.

  • Ability to work effectively with a cell phone and laptop computer while traveling between job sites.

  • Ability to work remotely from a home office effectively and without distraction during regular business hours.

  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly to active job sites throughout the Central Florida region; a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional, can-do attitude.
