Job description

Support MPD Supervisor in the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) systems on offshore drilling rigs. Assist rig crew with running, retrieving, and testing equipment associated with the MPD system. Provide technical knowledge for repair of components within the MPD system. Support Subsea Engineer with the operation, maintenance and repair of Well Control and Subsea Systems. This includes BOP stack, control systems, accumulators, motion compensators, and riser. Conduct troubleshooting and repairs as necessary for operations. Work closely with the MPD Supervisor and Senior Subsea Engineer to ensure MPD &Subsea Systems meet operational, industry, and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in managed pressure drilling operations.
  • 1+ years of related experience and education/training in hydraulics and fluid system maintenance and repair; knowledge of BOPs and control systems and associated procedures; of riser tensioners and CMC functions; and of all wellhead equipment and running tools.
  • Familiar with current managed pressure drilling technology.
  • Hydraulic, electronics and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Understanding of mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Familiar with at-sea operations.
  • Experience at decision making and problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and within groups.
  • Possess skills in time management and establishing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Travel is an essential job function (approximately 100%, this is an offshore rotational position).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist in the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) and or Subsea systems and equipment for onsite.
  • Assist operational groups with ensuring the internal and external preservation, including lubrication of all well control and MPD equipment in storage and/or not in use.
  • Demonstrate system knowledge in order to perform all aspects of maintenance, repair on well control and MPD support systems, preventative maintenance, and conduct equipment overhaul.
  • Domestic and international travel; employee to coordinate with Subsea Systems Manager and Subsea Engineering Manager on location of deployment based off the company's requirements.
  • Review all Original Equipment Manufacturer ("OEM") bulletins and Company well control equipment-related alerts for relevance and ensure that an effective action plan is in place.
  • Learn Noble's Subsea Standards, Subsea Operations Manual, MPD Operations Manual, Well Control Manual, and MPD Well Control Manual. Understand deviation process requires an approved Management of Change ("MOC").
  • Adhere to and participate in Noble's Health, Safety, and Environmental ("HSE") policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
