What is an onshore drilling rig?

An onshore drilling rig is a large piece of equipment used to drill wells into the earth’s surface to extract oil or natural gas from underground reservoirs. Unlike offshore rigs, which operate in bodies of water, onshore rigs are situated on land. These rigs are composed of various components such as the derrick, drill string, mud pumps, and power systems, all working together to reach and retrieve hydrocarbons. Onshore drilling is a crucial part of the energy industry and involves multiple specialized personnel to operate safely and efficiently.
