Job Description: NOC Technician I

Department: Technical Operations NOC

Reports to: Director of Technical Operations

Position Summary: The NOC Technician 1 provides frontline support within the Network Operations Center and is responsible for monitoring infrastructure alerts, handling initial troubleshooting steps, and escalating issues to senior NOC staff when necessary. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals starting their IT career who are eager to learn core MSP operations, monitoring platforms, and client onboarding tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Alert Monitoring & Remediation

  • Monitor real-time alerts from NinjaOne and other integrated platforms.

  • Respond to standard incidents such as low disk space, offline devices, or failed backup notifications.

  • Perform documented first-line troubleshooting steps.

  • Escalate unresolved alerts to NOC Technician II or NOC Engineers.

Onboarding & Configuration Support

  • Assist in onboarding tasks under the direction of senior technicians.

  • Deploy monitoring agents and validate basic connectivity.

  • Review onboarding runbooks and maintain checklist compliance.

Ticket Documentation

  • Accurately document actions and updates in ConnectWise Manage.

  • Follow escalation workflows and time entry standards.

Tool Proficiency

  • NinjaOne RMM: Alert triage, basic remediation, and agent status checks

  • ConnectWise Manage: Ticket handling and note

  • Acronis: Monitor backup status (basic awareness)

Qualifications & Skills:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in IT preferred.

  • 1+ year of experience in Help Desk, NOC, or IT support role.

  • Familiarity with Windows OS, remote desktop tools, and IT fundamentals.

  • Desire to grow within a structured NOC environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • CompTIA A+ (required or in progress)

  • CompTIA Network+ (preferred)

  • NinjaOne Foundations (preferred)

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
