Job description


Our client is looking for an IT Network Administrator for a contract role in Lawrenceville, GA. We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient NOC Technician to support Tier 1-2 network, systems, and cloud infrastructure operations in a mission-critical 24x7x365 environment. You will be responsible for the proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues impacting a large-scale LAN/WAN architecture across over 100 sites, including core IP networking, virtualization platforms, hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and SaaS integrations. This role includes hands-on support of cloud services, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and various connected devices. You will also manage escalations, execute standard changes, and contribute to documentation and continuous improvement.
Skills:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience
• 2-4+ years of experience in a NOC or enterprise IT operations environment
• Familiarity with ITIL-based incidents, problems, and change management
• Experience with at least one scripting/configuration tool (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python)
Preferred Experience:
Infrastructure Monitoring & Incident Response o Monitor enterprise infrastructure using tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, LogicMonitor, Datadog, and Network Analyzer platforms o Triage and respond to system-generated alerts and logs across network, server, and cloud environments o Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and escalate to Tier 2/3 engineering teams as necessary
Network & Systems Operations
• Configure and support LAN/WAN connectivity for user devices (PCs, VOIP phones, printers, IoT, card readers, body-worn cameras)
• Troubleshoot and maintain DHCP reservations, DNS configurations, firewall rules, and VLAN assignments Maintain connectivity between internal systems, cloud resources, and remote users (VPN, NetMotion, IPsec/SSL)
Cloud & Virtualization
• Support workloads running in cloud computing such as AWS, Azure, and GCP (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, Lambda, Azure VMs)
• Collaborate with IT teams to monitor cloud service pipelines, cloud-native telemetry (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor)
• Perform basic operations in VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, and KVM environments
Security & Compliance
• Block malicious IPs in real-time per InfoSec team guidance
• Manage VPN access for employees and third-party vendors
• Support physical security infrastructure (cameras, intercoms, badge systems) across 100+ sites using Avigilon
Field & Physical Layer Support
• Perform cabling verification and troubleshooting for network patching o Use tools such as Fluke DTX testers to validate copper and fiber connections
• Coordinate with low-voltage cabling vendors for installations and escalations
Operational Management
• Use Salesforce & Team Dynamix Service Management for ticket handling and workflow tracking
• Maintain NOC SOPs, technical documentation, and operational runbooks
• Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours emergency support
