Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Structured Cabling Helper to assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems. This role supports lead technicians in commercial environments and is ideal for individuals looking to grow within the low-voltage or telecommunications field.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with installation of low voltage systems including data, voice, fiber optic, and security cabling
  • Pull, route, label, and terminate cables (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, etc.)
  • Support installation of cable pathways (J-hooks, cable tray, conduit)
  • Help mount and install equipment such as patch panels, racks, and network devices
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and schematics (preferred)
  • Assist with testing and troubleshooting of installed systems

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in low voltage, construction, or related field (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing
  • Ability to work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, construction sites)

Preferred Skills (Not Required)
  • Experience with structured cabling systems
  • Familiarity with TIA/EIA standards
  • OSHA 10 certification
