We are hiring for an Entry-Level Pharmaceutical Scientist here in the Cincinnati, Ohio area! This is a long-term career opportunity and an ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline with chemistry laboratory coursework.

Job Description

The Pharmaceutical Scientist I is responsible for performing routine analyses and documentation of raw materials, in-process samples, calibrations, or projects within the QC Chemistry Laboratory of a large pharmaceutical company in the area. This role supports internal development and manufacturing operations by making detailed observations, reviewing, documenting, and communicating test results in a manner consistent with established standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine chemical and physical testing of raw materials using internally developed and compendial test methods.
  • Execute validated test methods for pharmaceutical raw materials to assess strength, impurities, identity, and characteristics using HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, and traditional wet chemical testing.
  • Recognize and report out-of-specification or unexpected results and non-routine analytical and product problems.
  • Perform daily instrument calibrations and verifications as required.
  • Clearly and accurately document the testing/analysis results and acquired data.
  • Record and report analysis results in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.
  • Prepare test solutions, including media and mobile phases.
  • Clean and maintain work area and instrumentation.
  • Perform all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance status as required by company and facility standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science with strong chemistry coursework (preference for Chemistry or Biochemistry degrees, but not required)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
