Navajo Preference in Employment

Canyon Construction complies with the Navajo Preference in Employment Act. Preference will be given to qualified applicants in accordance with the Navajo Preference in Employment Act.

Compensation

$20.32-$23.00/hour (per prevailing wage)

Wages will be paid in accordance with applicable Navajo Nation Prevailing Wage Rates.

Job Summary

The Construction Laborer supports field operations on job sites, assisting with site preparation and general labor tasks such as; shoveling, backfilling, compacting trenches and working with small tools and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform manual labor including but not limited to digging, lifting, and backfilling
  • Assist equipment operators
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies and supervisor instructions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Driver’s License preferred; Must be valid state issued
  • Must comply with all site safety requirements
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Construction experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. with ease
