Entry-Level Accounting (AP/Payroll)

Location: Pinehurst, ID

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: (DOE) + benefits

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our growing team in Pinehurst, Idaho. This role will primarily support Accounts Payable (AP) and Payroll functions, making it ideal for candidates early in their accounting career who are looking to expand their hands-on experience. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and verify accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment
  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, including reviewing timesheets and resolving discrepancies
  • Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on discrepancies or outstanding items
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare and enter basic journal entries
  • Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding payment and payroll inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant federal/state regulations
Required Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in Accounts Payable and/or Payroll processing
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial and employee information
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Reliable attendance and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP or Paylocity
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll and basic tax reporting
