Location: Time Out Market, Brooklyn, New York

Reporting to: Maintenance Engineer

Internal: Time Out Market

Porter Responsibilities

  • Prepare dining areas before guests are seated

  • Remove dirty plate ware and silverware from tables after guests have left

  • Clean tables after guests leave

  • kitchens to be restocked with plates, utensils, napkins and trays

  • Maintain health and safety regulations at all kitchen and dining areas

  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.

  • Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.

  • Operate equipment in an efficient and safe manner.

  • Complete other general cleaning duties such as emptying trash cans and cleaning dining area

  • Other duties as assigned by management


Skills and Requirements

  • Work experience as a Busser, Food Runner or other entry-level role in a restaurant and face paced events environment a plus

  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays

  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules

  • Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays, push heavy carts and stand for long hours

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to be cross trained in all areas of the cleaning department

  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English
