Job description

JZAVIEA Records is an artist development and entertainment company dedicated to discovering, developing, and supporting talented musicians across multiple genres. We believe great artists are built through strong development, professional guidance, strategic marketing, and long-term career planning—not simply by social media numbers.

Our A&R team plays a vital role in identifying tomorrow's stars and introducing them to the opportunities, resources, and professional support needed to build successful careers.

Do you have a passion for discovering incredible music before everyone else?

JZAVIEA Records is seeking a motivated, music-obsessed Music A&R Talent Scout to help identify exceptional unsigned artists and introduce them to our artist development and management team.

This is not just a listening position. It is a talent discovery and relationship-building role. You'll spend your time searching for emerging artists online and in person, evaluating talent, attending showcases, networking within the music community, and building relationships with musicians who have the potential to grow with our company.

Successful A&R Scouts understand that great talent can be found anywhere—from small local venues and social media platforms to open mic nights, independent releases, and college performances. Your responsibility is to identify artists with exceptional potential, evaluate their readiness for development, and present qualified prospects to company leadership for further review.

If you're constantly discovering new music, enjoy networking, and have an eye for identifying artists with long-term potential, we'd love to hear from you.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Discover talented unsigned artists across multiple music genres.
  • Search social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, and emerging music platforms.
  • Attend concerts, showcases, festivals, open mic nights, and networking events.
  • Build relationships with independent artists, producers, songwriters, managers, and promoters.
  • Evaluate artists based on talent, originality, work ethic, professionalism, stage presence, songwriting, audience engagement, and long-term potential.
  • Conduct initial outreach to artists and introduce JZAVIEA Records.
  • Schedule introductory meetings between qualified artists and company executives.
  • Maintain detailed scouting reports and artist profiles.
  • Monitor music trends and emerging markets.
  • Recommend artists for management, artist development, or recording opportunities.
  • Work closely with marketing, branding, and artist development teams during the evaluation process.
  • Represent JZAVIEA Records professionally at industry events and showcases.

What You'll Be Looking For

We're looking for artists who demonstrate:

  • Exceptional vocal or musical ability.
  • Originality and creativity.
  • Strong songwriting or production skills.
  • Professional attitude and coachability.
  • Consistent work ethic.
  • Stage presence and audience connection.
  • Long-term career potential.
  • Commitment to personal and artistic growth.
  • Strong communication and professionalism.
  • Passion for their craft.

Preferred Genres

Our company welcomes artists from a variety of genres, including:

  • Pop
  • Hip-Hop
  • R&B
  • Country
  • Rock
  • Alternative
  • Indie
  • Reggae
  • Latin
  • Gospel
  • Christian
  • Jazz
  • Blues
  • EDM
  • Folk
  • Singer-Songwriter
  • World Music

Qualifications

  • Passion for music and artist development.
  • Strong networking and communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize talent beyond social media popularity.
  • Comfortable attending live events and showcases.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Ability to evaluate artists objectively.
  • Experience in music, entertainment, talent scouting, artist management, or event promotion is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with today's music industry and digital platforms.

What Success Looks Like

Performance will be measured by:

  • Number of qualified artists discovered.
  • Quality of artist recommendations.
  • Artists advancing to management evaluations.
  • Artists successfully signed to development or management agreements.
  • Relationship building within the music community.
  • Professional scouting reports and documentation.
  • Consistent outreach activity.
  • Collaboration with executives and artist development teams.

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who:

  • Listens to music every day.
  • Loves discovering unknown artists.
  • Attends concerts and showcases.
  • Understands current music trends.
  • Enjoys networking.
  • Has excellent people skills.
  • Is highly organized.
  • Thinks long-term about artist careers rather than short-term popularity.
  • Wants to help build the next generation of successful recording artists.

Why Join JZAVIEA Records?

At JZAVIEA Records, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the future of emerging artists while working with a company committed to artist development and long-term success. As an A&R Talent Scout, your discoveries could lead to the next breakthrough artist, making a direct impact on careers and the continued growth of our label.

If you're passionate about finding talent before the rest of the industry and want to help artists turn potential into lasting success, we'd love to have you join our team.
