Gastronomous is looking for a Co-Op Full Stack Developer who will be an integral part of our software team, implementing both frontend and backend solutions. This role is geared towards an individual with a can-do attitude, a demonstrated passion for innovative technology, and displays a real sense of ownership over any software they write.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design new and improve existing user interfaces for Gastronomous' flagship machines.
  • Develop and maintain database architectures for both machine and cloud storage.
  • Create web applications to process and view data collected by our machines.
  • Work closely with end-users and operators to make necessary functionality improvements.
  • Work with solutions architect, team leads, QA analyst and other developers and business users through the project life cycle to gather and understand requirements, determine best solutions, test solutions and demonstrate functionality to end users.
  • Ensure all application changes are developed, tested, and implemented in a well controlled environment.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent .
  • Experience with ReactJS required. Other GUI tools (ie. Qt) is a plus.
  • Experience working with AWS (S3, RDS, EC2).
  • Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Experience using git for source control.
  • Familiar with clean-coding principles.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in robotics and machine automation.
  • Mechanically inclined.

Soft Skills:

  • Must be able to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively.
  • Must be able to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Organized and efficient, able to self-manage projects and present deliverables on time or communicate delays.
  • Detail oriented with regards to machine development.
