  • Schedule - 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • No travel - if ever required it would be on a rare occasion for a meeting or training

The Net Metering Specialist will:
  • Process applications, review applications, interact with customers, creating orders, tracking and managing orders
  • Act as the first point of contact for new electric and gas service requests for industrial, commercial and residential customers.
  • Screen and interpret electric and gas requirements, which result in the design and installation of utility infrastructure.
  • Create the initial shell for customer projects of a technical nature, ensuring high levels of quality and accuracy.
  • Create invoicing, Refunding Agreements, meter set orders related to existing service requests in support of Service Consultants.
  • Review of Interconnection applications (Net meter/Solar Loan) for completeness and compliance with NJ Board of Public Utilities/Office of Clean Energy requirements
  • Answer customer questions about the interconnection Program or about the status of their job
  • Create net meter work orders in the Work Management System (DWMS) and route to the appropriate Electric Division
  • Follow-up with Electric Division when jobs are past due date (approval to install, meter changes)
  • Review Electric Division answers for completeness and communicate these details to the customer
  • Update tasks on the job throughout the process (this includes: issuing meter sets, arranging for phone lines, entering account numbers, etc.)
  • Track for the receipt of UCC (Uniform Construction Code) Certificate of Approval and Interconnection Agreement Completion Documents
  • Coordinate the issuance of the Utility Acceptance (Permission to Operate) letter and advise when application is accepted
  • Answer/direct Net Meter and I&C telephone calls

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma; entry level candidate; customer service background
  • Utility experience a plus as well as cable, fiber, electric, solar, water (solar)
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • SAP, CCS, CRM experience is preferred
  • Willing to train
  • Basics in excel and SharePoint required
  • Must be proficient in typing
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Customer interaction experience - Phone support
  • Solar knowledge/Solar Program knowledge is a plus
  • SAP knowledge helpful but not mandatory
