Medical Malpractice Attorney

Mike Morse Law Firm – Southfield, MI


Position Summary

Mike Morse Law Firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join our plaintiff-side personal injury team. This role is responsible for managing complex medical malpractice cases from intake through resolution, advocating for clients who have suffered serious injuries due to medical negligence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a full caseload of medical malpractice claims, including birth injuries, surgical errors, misdiagnosis, and wrongful death
  • Conduct case investigations, including reviewing medical records and consulting with expert witnesses
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and healthcare providers
  • Work closely with medical experts to build strong liability and damages arguments
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and defense counsel
  • Prepare cases for trial, including trial strategy, exhibits, and witness preparation
  • First-chair or second-chair trials as required
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and guidance throughout the litigation process


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Michigan (in good standing)
  • 2+ years of medical malpractice or complex personal injury litigation experience preferred
  • Proven experience handling high-value or complex litigation matters
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Depositions and courtroom experience required; jury trial experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
