Job description

Full-Time Pediatric Medical Biller

Windermere Pediatrics – Windermere, FL

Experienced Medical Billers Only

Windermere Pediatrics is a well-established, independently owned pediatric practice seeking an experienced Full-Time Medical Biller to join our team.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who has recent physician office medical billing experience, preferably in pediatrics, and understands the complete revenue cycle from charge entry through payment posting, insurance follow-up, denial management, and account resolution.

Position Details

  • Full-Time
  • Monday through Friday
  • Occasional Saturday coverage (1–2 Saturdays per month as needed)

Primary Responsibilities

Charge Entry

  • Accurately enter daily charges from provider documentation.
  • Review documentation for billing accuracy.
  • Verify CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifier usage.
  • Submit clean claims electronically in a timely manner.

Insurance Follow-Up (Accounts Receivable)

The ideal candidate must be comfortable managing insurance aging and proactively following up on unpaid claims.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working insurance aging reports daily.
  • Following up with commercial insurance companies regarding unpaid or underpaid claims.
  • Correcting claim issues and resubmitting when appropriate.
  • Reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
  • Identifying payment discrepancies.
  • Following claims through to final payment.
  • Maintaining low outstanding accounts receivable.

Denials & Appeals

  • Investigate denied claims.
  • Correct billing errors.
  • Submit corrected claims and appeals.
  • Track recurring denial trends.
  • Work directly with insurance carriers to resolve claim issues.

Payment Posting

  • Post insurance and patient payments accurately.
  • Balance daily deposits.
  • Ensure payments match contracted reimbursement amounts.
  • Identify underpayments and initiate follow-up.

Front Office Support

As a small independent practice, teamwork is important.

When needed, this position will also assist with:

  • Answering incoming phone calls
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Checking patients in and out
  • Assisting the front desk during lunch coverage or busy periods
