Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems, and electronic health record (EHR) software is typically required. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for ensuring accuracy and collaborating with healthcare teams. These skills are essential to maintain compliance, ensure proper billing, and support the financial health of medical practices.
