Job description

Make a Difference as the Heart of Urgent Care
Join our urgent care team as a Medical Assistant/Coordinator, where you'll be a vital link in patient care. In this role, you'll provide hands-on clinical support to physicians, assist with patient care plans, and help maintain a smooth workflow in a fast-paced urgent care environment. You'll also support front office staff, working as part of a collaborative team to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
Reporting to the Practice Manager and working directly with physicians, you'll combine clinical expertise with administrative support to ensure every patient receives efficient, compassionate care.
What You'll Do
  • Assist physicians in implementing patient care plans and procedures
  • Perform clinical duties, including vital signs, phlebotomy, and EKGs for patients of all ages
  • Support front office staff and office coordinators with administrative tasks
  • Accurately record patient demographics, schedules, and clinical information in the EMR
  • Ensure proper handling of laboratory specimens and assist with office and lab procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team both in person and by phone
  • Process insurance verifications, billing, and other financial transactions as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all regulatory, safety, and quality standards
  • Work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
What You Bring
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Graduate of a certified or registered medical assistant program preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year in urgent care or a related healthcare setting preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience with patients of all ages highly preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Licensure & Certification
  • CPR/BLS certification required (or to be obtained within 4 months of hire if not current)
