Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable HVAC Helper to join our growing Mechanical Division. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone with 1–2 years of general construction experience who is interested in building a career in the HVAC/mechanical trade. The HVAC Helper will support experienced HVAC Mechanics and Installers with the installation of commercial and industrial HVAC systems while learning proper methods, safety practices, and trade skills on the job.
Key Responsibilities

·               Assist HVAC Mechanics and Installers with the installation of commercial HVAC equipment, including ductwork, curbs, gas piping, and air distribution components.
·               Assist in installing related mechanical equipment such as unit heaters, exhaust fans, louvers, and HVLS fans.
·               Load, unload, and stage materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
·               Safely operate basic power tools such as drills, saws, grinders, and hand tools (training provided as needed).
·               Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area daily.
·               Follow directions from Project Foreman and HVAC Installers to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
·               Learn to read and understand basic mechanical drawings and equipment layouts.
·               Report job progress, material needs, or issues to the Field Supervisor or Project Foreman.
·               Follow all Scout safety practices and wear required PPE at all times on job sites.
·               Demonstrate a willingness to learn, improve skills, and advance within the trade.
 

Job Requirements:

·               1–2 years of general construction experience preferred.
·               HVAC, mechanical, or trade-related experience is a plus but not required.
·               Strong desire to learn the HVAC trade and grow within the company.
·               Basic understanding of construction tools, materials, and job site practices.
·               Ability to take direction, ask questions, and work well as part of a team.
·               Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
·               Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in varying environmental conditions.
·               Willingness to work at heights, on rooftops, and in mechanical spaces with proper PPE.
·               Clean driving record preferred.
