Job description

The Mechanical Foreman will be responsible for coordinating crew activities, planning daily work, ensuring materials and equipment are available, interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, and making sure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to specifications.

This is a "hands-on leadership position." The successful candidate will work alongside the crew, provide technical guidance, troubleshoot field issues, train team members, and serve as a key point of communication between field personnel, project management, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and supervise field crews on mechanical construction and fabrication projects.
* Plan daily activities and assign work to crew members based on project requirements.
* Coordinate labor, materials, tools, equipment, and deliveries to maintain productivity.
* Read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
* Provide hands-on technical guidance and assist with mechanical installation, fabrication, and troubleshooting.
* Monitor job-site progress and ensure work is completed according to project schedules and specifications.
* Communicate regularly with project managers, customers, subcontractors, and crew members.
* Identify and resolve field issues while escalating major concerns when necessary.
* Conduct job-site inspections and monitor the quality of completed work.
* Enforce company safety policies and promote safe work practices among all crew members.
* Maintain accurate daily reports, progress documentation, material records, and other required job documentation.
* Train, mentor, and support less-experienced employees.
* Help coordinate equipment and material needs to minimize delays and downtime.
* Maintain an organized and professional job site.
* Perform hands-on mechanical work alongside the crew when required.
* Ensure company standards for quality, productivity, safety, and professionalism are consistently maintained.

Qualifications

* Previous experience as a Mechanical Foreman, Field Foreman, Lead Technician, Leadman, or Senior Technician in a construction, mechanical, or fabrication environment.
* Demonstrated experience supervising field crews and coordinating daily job-site activities.
* Strong understanding of mechanical installation, construction, fabrication, or related trades.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to effectively plan work sequences and coordinate labor, tools, materials, and equipment.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work effectively with project managers, customers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
* Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive job site.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks when necessary.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
* OSHA training or relevant trade certifications are a plus.
