MagTech is currently hiring a Mechanical Technician near Hilliard, OH. Please apply below if you are interested and meet the qualifications below! This position is for an entry-level mechanical technician who can assist in disassembling equipment from customers for service.

Mechanical Technician

Pay: $20-22 (Entry Level)

Hours: 730am-430pm- Overtime as needed, average of 45 hours a week.

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Mechanical Technician. This position is full-time. Looking for someone with general mechanical assembly or disassembly skills, can interpret prints and measurements, and help assist our lead Technician with motor repair. Great for greener applicants who only have 1-2 years of experience with mechanical jobs.

Essential Functions

  • Identify components to be repaired by the manufacture and part number and ensure model number is correct.
  • Inspect parts and various components. Determine if parts are re-workable. List all parts needed for repair that need to be ordered for component in Trend.
  • Identify the reason for failure and record findings in Trend using the notes field.
  • Pull necessary parts for repair and verify that new parts are the same as the old parts and will interchange, clean all dirt from component, clean all gasket surfaces and O-ring surfaces and prepare component for assembly.
  • Assemble units according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Test repaired unit using manufacturer test specifications. If at any time component does not meet the specification consult your shop foremen.
  • Make necessary adjustments to repaired unit.
  • Maintain a clean shop by sweeping, mopping, organizing and other general duties necessary to keep shop clean.
  • Maintain a safe shop environment by maintaining an organized workstation and inspecting the following equipment before use, fork lift, grinders, overhead hoist, test stand, test stand hose and fittings and wire wheels. Employee should report any safety concerns to the shop foreman.
  • Participate in continuous improvement through training and associate development. Work efficiently with a team, set a positive example for new technicians, and guide them through repairs and training.
  • Additional responsibilities may include shipping and receiving, stocking goods, pulling parts and inventory control. Associates may also be required to operate a forklift.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 1-2 years in a mechanical field of assembly, or disassembly of equipment required
  • 2-year fluid power associate degree and certification desired, but not required
  • 3-5 years fluid power experience preferred, but not required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-year experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • teardown or disassembly: 1 year (Required)
  • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required)
