Job description

An entry-level Mechanical Design Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Lexington, KY. This is a full time, direct job with full benefits. Great matching candidates will need a Bachelor"s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline, and be able to report to & work out of the Lexington, KY office. You will be contributing to the digital engineering development of legacy airframe and/or dynamic components for some of the most advanced aircraft in the country.
Job Duties:
* Develop 3D MBD models of components for rotorcraft design in static airframe and/or dynamic environments.
* Create and maintain corresponding BOMs (Bill-of-Materials)
* Operate within provided PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tool
* Demonstrate ability to receive work direction, coordinate with leadership to help formulate solution paths, communicate technical information effectively, and interface with multiple disciplines
* Manage time efficiently and produce technically accurate engineering packages within allotted budgets.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor"s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
* Previous experience with some version(s) of parametric 3D CAD design, preferably CATIA v5/v6/3DX.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organizational skills
* U.S. Citizen required
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Previous utilization of CATIA v5/v6/3DX.
* Previous experience with Airframe or Dynamic Design
* Exposure to Sheet Metal, Machining, and/or Composites Design
* Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Familiarity with ANSI/ASME design and drafting standards
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $60,320 to $64,480 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
