Manufacturing Machine Operator II - Entry-US

Shift - 2nd shift, 3PM - 11PM

Job Summary and Mission
Describe the purpose of the job

 

Chemically clean carbide inserts. Remove debris and minor coating defects.

   

Key Job Responsibilities

Description of Responsibility

 

 

 

 

 

Operate the Crest, Novatec, and EcoClean wash machines.  Visually determine if inserts are ready for washer.  Load and unload carbide inserts onto racks and washer baskets as appropriate for insert style for washing.   Determine if inserts are clean enough to proceed to the next operation.  Monitor washer while running.  Scan in correct information.  Record results of inspection on route card. Perform preventive maintenance.  Serve as back-up for the Electropolish machine.

Description of Accountability

 

 

Commitment to working safely and understand all safety procedures. Deviations in routine are handled according to operating procedures and/or work instructions. Operator responsible for following inspection control plan, assuring product is processed according to proper routings, specifications and the quantity and style are correct. Work to meet daily departmental production goals. Communicate safety , quality and product issues with supervisor, team members and across shifts.

     

Education and Experience

 

Must have High School diploma or GED. 2 year technical degree preferred.

  

Work Environment

 

Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems.  Safety glasses with side-shields required. Safety Shoes are required.  Gloves, cut resistant gloves when necessary.

   

Physical Demands

 

Approximately eight hours standing with two break opportunities per eight hour work period.  Intermittent walking, reaching, sitting and bending. Lifting insert trays weighing no more than thirty-three (33) pounds.

    

Problem Solving

 

Run orders by due date. Follow control plan. Assignments and instructions communicated orally and carried out by standing guidelines. Routine problems solved by operator using learned knowledge of insert style, production processes and machine familiarity. Recurring problems and decisions receive supervisor attention.
