Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description

The Material Handler supports hospital operations by safely unloading shipments, organizing and stocking inventory, and delivering materials to departments across the facility. This role ensures that critical supplies are available where and when they are needed in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming shipments and place inventory in the correct storage areas.
  • Pull orders accurately and load materials onto carts for distribution throughout the hospital.
  • Deliver materials to various departments in a timely and organized manner.
  • Stock and organize materials in the shipping and receiving room to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Place orders for supplies as needed and log inventory accurately in the system.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all safety procedures when lifting, moving, and transporting materials.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling and documenting inventory.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of logistics or material handling experience.
  • Proven ability to lift 50+ pounds and push loads of 100+ pounds safely.
  • Experience logging and tracking inventory accurately.
  • Basic understanding of material handling, picking, packing, loading, unloading, and packaging.

Work Environment

This position is based in a busy hospital environment that is very fast-paced and highly dynamic. You will work indoors and move frequently between the shipping and receiving area and various hospital departments while transporting materials on carts. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will regularly lift and push heavy loads and must follow all safety and hospital protocols while on site.
